The interface for the game is fine, especially with the animation speed set to the fastest, but the AI is simply terrible, even when it's set to the "snartest" level. It would also be good if more game settings (rules) were customizable; one simple example of that is the QS breaking hearts, which many people play.

I play way too much. Good design, lots of fun. But after many games I notice something really weird. The low hearts, 2 through 5 are almost always perfectly distributed between the four players. I suspect the card randomizer has a bug or a bias. I've played many, many games and see this recurring 2-3-4-5 distribution way more than should happen naturally.

An excellent version of the Hearts card game with enough avatars with diverse skill levels to make it interesting. Play is fast. Needed Improvements: when you try to play the wrong card accidentally, the game stops with a nasty explanation of the rules screen. Get rid of that with a ive screen instead that allows play to continue, just like in A.I.s Spades game.

Good game interface. I play it a lot, but it has a couple of issues: it hangs when first accessing the interface (rather often) - I have to go to the Applications menu and kill the program, then it starts OK. Another improvement to the game would be more rule options in settings. For instance: allowing play of the Queen of Spades to break hearts; also when one shoots the moon, there should be an option to subtract points from ones own score instead of adding points to everyone else's score.

Despite the developer's assertions otherwise, there is no way the cards are dealt randomly. But if you accept the fact that you will always get high cards against tough opponents, it's fun to play. And I can predict which player the app has chosen to win a hand quickly, which helps. When playing at the most difficult setting, Bill always wins.

Have experience with same company's Euchre and Spades, this is of same good standard. Kudos for this being free, had to pay for other 2 (to have no ads). AI could probably be improved, to help prevent frequency of winning all 26 pts (ing a low heart for example is common preventative tactic). Also would be good to have random players option for each new game, this is fixed unless manually changed. Spades has this option - it must be relatively straightforward to port the code?

I'm going to say this again. The hands are not random. YOU GET WAY TOO MANY CARDS IN NUMERICAL SEQUENCE. I don't know who is the lead programmer but there needs to be a change. At higher difficulty levels, you are going to get stuck one way or the other with the Queen of Spades. Plus if you use the undo function and change your play and another gets stuck with it, you will pay dearly because you have so many high number hearts in your hand. It's mathematically impossible for this to be random.

It's a very well designed app, functions very well and a lot of fun to play. In my original review I suggested that the app manipulates hands, i.e. if you're playing against "easy" virtual players you're more likely to get a better hand than if you're playing against "difficult" virtual players. But I accept the developer's response below, it was probably just my bad-loser perception! Great app!
