this app is terrible. used to use it a ton but as of recently it's gone out the window, I think due to a lack of local competition. when it let's me which is only half the time, it won't accept payment, and the last time I actually got it to approve it overcharged me as if I'd ridden 10 minutes when I'd only ridden 5. and I did use a timer to check

I tried to use 3 different spins. Two didn't work at all, one charged me 1.08 to find out it wouldn't actually let me ride it. ETA: this has only gotten worse. My apartment complex is a graveyard of spins. 2 or 3 every single corner, all dead and useless. the app has become useless as well. constantly unable to start rides despite the spin showing on the map in front of me

When it works it's great. Just had my second experience of not being able to end my ride due to the app's faulty detection of parking zones. I spent 20 minutes trying to park after a 5 minute ride. After I gave up and submitted a ticket I only got refunded for my stationary time. Thinking I'll just walk in the future

Update 2025. Before , it was very easy to end the ride to where we need to end at our destination. Now Spin dumb engineering decided to make a end location. So if you want to end your ride you will now have to find the " P " on the map and park it on the " P " to end your ride which I think it's ridiculous. I had to end my ride 5 blocks away from where I live. What's the point of using spin anymore since we still have to walk far just to get home after ending spin at it's location. RIDICULOUS!!!

If you use it only use the monthly . I first used it on a charge by the minute basis and I felt that it was too expensive: twice as much as a lyft with way more hassle for the same distance. I am an experienced bike and kick scooter rider so that experience came in handy. The first scooter I rented had a hard time starting after stopping which is very frustrating when I am being charged by the minute. I had to kick scooter to keep it rolling part of the time.

absolutely horribly designed app. I purchased a subscription it should be very easy for me to just scan and get on a scooter but with your app it is like a treasure hunt to find it I ended up walking off from the scooter and canceling my 3 minute old subscription!

I live in Burlingame CA and after using spin for about 6mo, the service has degraded substantially that I can no longer recommend it. many bikes are broken and what's worse is that you have no way of knowing when reserving with the app. if it is broken, often you cannot reserve another bike until the first reservation ends so you are stranded. this is especially bad if you are relying on a ride to catch a train for commute. just over the past month, I have missed 5 trains to my work.

! SCAM ! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! they overcharge, constantly hitting you with hidden fee's. they'll say it's one piece and then change it with notice. i rode it twice, ruffle 6 miles all together and was charged over $40 dollars! I could have got an Ober for a lot less! total scam 🤬🤬
