I bought this mainly to Justin guitar. It's not bad but I like the website better. For songs, I mainly use Ultimate guitar anyway. But I've been playing off and on for about 4 or 5 years more off than on. So that makes a difference also. If you're a complete beginner, the app would definitely be a big help to you.

The first year I had this app, it was wonderful . The last few days I'm having difficulties logging in ..I ed Justin's guitar and deleted app and reinstalled as instructed..I lost all my favorites songs and all my completed lessons up to this point...So yes it's frustrating...I'm hoping that the problem can it will be resolved,if and when this happens I will let everyone know...in case someone else has this problem in the future 🙂

I've tried 5 competitor online guitar learning programs, and this is the only one that clicks on most levels. The instruction is good, and the song presentation helps me keep time and is not overly complicated. A HUGE plus for me is being able to remove vocals, other apps don't do that. PLEASE consider a way to zoom out and see all measures of a song instead of only one at a time, it would be a game changer for learning a song to memory.

I was using this app for the past 6 months, and absolutely loved it. However this new update is enough to make me completely ditch it. The new lessons are difficult to understand, the songs don't show you which strings to strum anymore, and the app is riddled with bugs. This is a perfect example of, if it's not broken don't fix it.

I'm an absolute self-taught beginner. I used Yousician before this app and while it was initially more fun, because I could jump right into playing a song with a virtual fret board, I felt simultaneously lost without a structure. So, I gave Justin a try and immediately loved the "face time" and advice that comes preloaded in all the instuctional videos. I've since made measurable progress while mastering a few songs and saving 20$USD a month in the process. Yousician is better for intermediate

UI could use a refresh, but I've been trying to get good at guitar since I was a kid and I've stuck with this longer than anything else. Justin has a great personality and his enthusiasm really drives this beginner course. After a few starts and stops I've finally finished it. Well worth the subscription cost for the songs alone. Update: The new version is excellent. It takes everything I liked about the old version and improves on it. Highly recommended.

The new version is very confusing. Hard to understand what the strumming patterns are, and the chords on many songs have changed. Many songs now use 5ths and other variations, and some have changed keys (Sloop John B, etc). It is very difficult to play along using headphones because the backing tracks don't give good cues as to what the guitar part should be. Overall this new version makes practice more difficult and discouraging. Also, requires rotating phone constantly.

Justin is fantastic. This app is fantastic. Justin gives you flawless instruction and true motivation to play. It is amazing that in just a couple stages you can play along with really songs. Do your one minute changes. You get out what you put in! You can go from absolute beginner to really being comfortable playing. It won't happen overnight, but if it's hard, it's worth it!
