The app provides two basic hearing test: pure-tone audiometry and the speech intelligibility test (the digits-in-noise).Pure-tone audiometry determines the degree of hearing loss in relation to the sound frequency. The test consists in determining the quietest sound that you are able to hear, thus determining your hearing threshold. The digits-in-noise test evaluates speech intelligibility and consists of recognition of the digits in the noise.
The features of the Hearing Test app:
* pure-tone audiometry (using bundled headphones and predefined calibration coefficients from the database),
* the digits-in-noise test for speech intelligibility measurements,
* noise meter to measure background noise during the test,
* calibration of the device (in the case of lack of predefined calibration or for headphones other than bundled).
Additional features:
* high-frequency audiometry,
* classification of the hearing loss,
* comparison with age norms,
* printing of the tests results,
* adding notes,
* calibration adjustment (calibration coefficients may be adjusted on the basis of your results obtained using clinical audiometer),
* verification of calibration coefficients.
Pro version features:
* local database (offline access to tests results, without connecting to the server),
* synchronization (your tests results can be stored in a cloud; data are easy to recover, can be transferred between devices and accessed on different devices).
What's New 1b5z3l
* Improved for Bluetooth headphones added.
The predefined calibration is currently available for the Sennheiser HD 450BT headphones. More wireless headphone models will be added to the database soon.
* Added option to export data to a text file.
* Added antiphasic stimulus to Digits-in-Noise test.
* Minor bug fixes and improvements.

Does a very good job of giving relative§ info about one's hearing. Even more accurate apparently with calibrated headphones. I strongly recommend you use it before letting an expensive agency persuade you that you're in serious need of their help! If nothing else, it gives you a better idea of your strengths and weaknesses in your audio sensitivity. § - only an audiologist can that it's absolute info. But I feel that it probably pretty nearly is, if it finds your headphone coefficients.

It's one of the best apps for hearing test on Android, I've been using it for a few years now. The developer finally released an update (thanks! it fixed that persistent crash on app closing, appreciate it!) My only gripe is with the calibration UI. The continuous tone calibration is basically useless, since it's hard to set the correct volume by up/down buttons as it keeps moving; it should've been done as a normal hearing test with subsequent value adjustments. Adjusting a test to another audiogram is much better, but the UI for it is very well hidden, and I'm not sure it works as d. I tried calibrating another device based on the previous I used, and the results are still widely different on the two devices. I also didn't find a way to store multiple custom adjustments (e.g. for different headphones); that would also be very useful.

Very good app but could do with a few improvements such as a home button & some instruction on how to use. I wanted to reward the developer by paying for the pro version but unfortunately this can't be done with in-app purchase but requires the pro version app to be ed. This means you have to recalibrate your headphones again (hence only 4 stars).

I used to work with audiologists, this is the real deal. The only issue is you will need high quality headphones to get a truly accurate result at home and of course if you need the most accurate results go to an audiologist, but this works perfectly well.

Very interesting. I think study needed to properly understand the results.... BUT... If you suspect you might be having your hearing affected for whatever reason. Id say this is a comprehensive place to start before you bother an actual doctor!

Using it in Demo mode, should really be called Uncalibrated mode. Using the same high quality Koss earphones and setup. Allows me to keep a progression chart and do tests after different exposure to loud sounds events. Suits my needs well.

So useful for keeping track of my intermittent SSNHL. Definitely worth the small cost to be export or back up your data, and to the developers.

The software is excelentes, but i" m using a Samsung Note Ultra, and dos not differentiate from right ear from left. The speech I telling test for right ear does not emit any sound
