Link. Television Culture is an editorial project focusing on TV and media. It departs from Mediaset-RTI strategic marketing to widen the horizon of the small screen within the entire communication system through a magazine and a series of books. Link wishes to describe the mechanisms that rule the television industry without indulging in banalities, to enrich the media debate with contributions from Italian as well as international leading experts and professionals, to introduce a credible meeting point among insiders, academicians and a larger audience of students and TV fans.Link. Idee per la televisione is a magazine approaching TV and media from an original point of view, providing analysis, reflections on the medium and uncovering productive practices and the secrets of the machine. Although inspired by an attitude that byes “apocalyptical” recurring temptations, the magazine is far from being “integrated”.
Link submits questions, ideas and models to follow (or avoid). We’re interested in change, in discontinuity. We like to understand how things work and eventually evolve; Link always valued television and the Internet the same way. Each issue delves into a specific topic explicated in the cover story and examines the television world through a broader approach. Sections are organized thematically and address genres, contents, markets, technologies and lateral thinking.
Established in 1998 within research and marketing development activities at RTI, Link has been sold in bookshops since 2002 and launched on tablet in 2012.
With Link, broadcasting takes a good look at itself.
