KartaView is a free and open platform for street level imagery. Anyone can contribute images with a smartphone and the open source apps.
After , KartaView will detect salient features from the ed images such as signs, lanes and road curvature. Using both new and familiar tools, anyone can then use these and other features gleaned from the images to improve OpenStreetMap.

A nice concept, but the app itself is pretty poor. I often have "can't connect" errors when wanting to view my profile, the photos seem to be taken at a lower quality than the camera can actually manage, it won't let you delete a track before ing, or even single frames, and it would be great if there was offline mode that ed which roads have already been photographed.

When touching a purple line in the app, it says 'nothing there', when tapping on blank area, it suggests pictures. Selecting single geolocated images like in Mapillary isn't possible. ed a sequence a few days ago but can't find it anywhere. Can't delete single pictures before ing. with these bugs, the app is completely useless

Works great! Simple to use. After ing a track, you can see the status ("processing"/"reviewing") ont he phone or on the website. NOTE: After ing there might be a short while where you can't see your track in the app. Just wait some minutes/hours and it will show up.

Can't do any settings here. Capture every 5/10/20/50meters, capture when rotating, etc no settings at all. You're doing something with NO control of what you're doing. Basically you are allowing GRAB to control what you're doing. Very bad!

Poor experience, e.g. ☹️ can't delete junk images😡👎 Previous versions: recording randomly stops, shamefully useless message: "Recording had to be stopped KartaCam recording has encountered an error". No apparent error-reporting. ☹️First use was 5-min. ride; app captured 4 images at end. ☹️ No SD card . Static text at bottom obscures control. Useless, waste of time; bad pre-beta must not have been tested on this OS/device. ☹️

crashes on almost every key presses, crashes when entering the settings, crashes when trying to take a picture... The idea is good, but the implementation is not there yet. I don't think this app is ready to be in the play store
