Good port, but there are some problems. The controls seem to have somehow gotten worse throughout updates. Sometimes the controls just stop working for a moment when I try to change direction. This doesn't happen when using a real controller. My Galaxy S23 has a pretty wide aspect ratio. As a result, foreground objects pop in from the right of the screen when walking in that direction which isn't supposed to happen. It's especially noticeable in Star Light Zone. Sonic 2 has the same issue.

This is a very good version of a classic videogame. It has all the bells and whistles I would expect and is considered by most to be the definitive version of the original Sonic. However, I have one issue, and it's a niche problem, but there is no option to change the boxart to Canadian! Canada got its own unique box art, and aside from the fact that I'm Canadian, I also think it looks the best, being a mixture of the EU art, with the Genesis logo. Please add this 🙏!

the game itself is good (even though they only give you one life?), but let's take a moment to talk about the ads. open the game? ad. press start? ad. Game over? ad. complete a level? ad. revive? ad. honestly i spend twice as long watching ads as playing the game. also, don't try simply turning off internet, they thought of that too. so yeah, great game, but all around bad experience. might as well just find an emulator online.

Well, this game is is one of the best games in the Play Store. However, it definitely has some flaws. For example, the adds. These adds are soo frustrating, as they always pop up after literally anything I do. Such as if i lost a game, and i go back to the home section, an add pops up. whenever I start a game, an add pops up. Please Sega, all of us know that your limits aren't that low to put adds like some 3rd party Chinese app, so I'd appreciate you guys if you'd remove the adds.

Good game, but throughout the game, a duplicate of sonic with blood red eyes keeps chasing me. Once it caught me, it gave me a jumpscare and my game crashed. When I went back the ui was all dark with blood dripping off the top off screen. Can't tell if this is a prank, a feature, a bug, or a virus. The files looked fine, and after reinstall got bloody text saying "you can't redo your mistakes". Please fix

Great game - just how i it. However this version is marred by quite a few bugs. The worst of which are: after opening a saved game lives are set back to 1. This defeats the point of having a save option. Also the glitch in the gate at level Scrap Brain 2 means you cant complete. This kinda ruins the experience for me

You only have one life for some reason, which defeats the purpose of checkpoints. You cant play offline which is annoying. There are too many ads. Every time I die it comes up with a popup saying 'watch an ad to keep playing?' which is annoying. Other than that I think it's fine

The game is good overall, the wide-screen helps with reacting to enemies. The touch controls are far better than I could imagine (you just have to get used to them.) The ads are a bit "over the top" but I've been using this app ever since 2018 so it doesn't bother me like it used too, but I mean every time you pause you get an ad, so thats the only thing that irritates me. But yeah all fun and all good, this is a good way to play sonic 1.
