Researchers at Monash University have developed a diet and corresponding app to assist in management of the gastrointestinal symptoms associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The Monash University Low FODMAP diet works by restricting foods high in some carbohydrates called FODMAPs.The app comes directly from the research team at Monash and includes the following:
- General information about the FODMAP diet and IBS.
- Easy to understand tutorials to guide you through the app and the 3-Step FODMAP diet.
- A Food Guide detailing the FODMAP content for hundreds of foods using a simple 'traffic light system'.
- A list of branded products that have been certified by Monash as low FODMAP.
- A collection of over 70 nutritious, low FODMAP recipes.
- Functions that allow you to create your own shopping list and add notes to individual foods
- A Diary that enables you to record food eaten, IBS symptoms, bowel habits and stress levels. The Diary will also guide you through step 2 of the diet - FODMAP reintroduction.
- The ability to adjust units of measurement (metric or imperial) and activate colour blindness assistance.

This app is easy to use and helps me maintain a low fodmap diet. I was resistant to purchase it and used other apps, but I found that to be able to trust that the information on food amounts, stacking, and which sugar is the culprit, I need this app. I like the color coding system and the diary-symptom tracker. If I traveled, the multinational food look-up would be great. I'd like to be able to look up more food combinations, but overall, I'm thankful for the app.

I'm glad that this app exists because there aren't many low fodmap resources out there. However, this doesn't give the control over changing the serving size of different foods and it doesn't tell you how much fodmaps are in different serving sizes, and instead uses an arbitrary color classification. This is unhelpful because I sometimes eat a meal with multiple low fodmap foods that adds up to a high fodmap meal and this app makes it impossible to know how much fodmap I'm actually eating.

Diary Disaster! It cannot keep an accurate of the food diary. The app saves on the wrong date and is impossible to use consistently. It makes it quite frustrating. And it would be awesome if the app communicated between devices but it needs to be entered separately. However the food info is great and will be helpful in transitioning into the reintroduction phase. But I am considering going back to paper & pen to monitor my progress since the diary is worthless.

Not worth the price. Not super helpful for a US . Unorganized food lists. Prioritizes foods and meals that are certified towards the top of searches, but not available to me, locally. The stoplight serving size order or organization is random (sometimes the smallest serving is shown first, sometimes the largest is shown first). Would have been nice to have a free version to explore before dropping the money on the whole thing.

With all of the misinformation on the Internet about fructose, lactose, etc. this app is amazing and accurate. It tells you how much you can eat within the low fodmap diet categories and helps you walk through all three phases of the low fodmap diet. Would love to see more features in the app and expanded recipes with options for dietary restrictions and picky eaters.

I love this app, it shows me what food fits in the fodmap diet and how much to take it. Also the food diary is very thorough and helpful. One bug I found w the update is when you load the diary screen, it shows the current day but the calendar is set to the day before so nothing is logged. One has to to tap on the calendar to ensure it's logged for today, otherwise it will log it into yesterday, even though its showing today.

Food search is all I care about with this app, but it is lacking. One of the problems I have is that many foods have different names. If I don't know how it was entered, I might not find it. For instance, Napa cabbage is entered as Chinese cabbage. Also, if a food isn't listed then there is no . It's difficult to tell if there are no results or the app is still loading. I really wish the food search feature was the only focus. It's not friendly and desperately needs work.

I love how informative this app is. Their food list is very expansive and inclusive. I took off two stars, however, because there isn't a search feature, which means you have to scroll through these long lists until you find the food item you're looking for. I really hope they add a search feature soon, because it would save a lot of time and make the app a lot more -friendly in doing so!
