An ephemeris gives the positions of naturally occurring astronomical objects in the sky at a given time for a given position. The Sun Ephemeris gives you the accurate position of the sun and the moon at any time for any location on earth. The Sun Ephemeris is ideal for landscape, nature, travel and outdoor photographers. It combined a map-based approach to search for any place on the planet with a com based approach to easily find the direction of the sunset, sunrise, moonset or moonrise.

1. Find your location

Use the map view and move it to your current position or use GPS to center the map at you exact location. You can also search for any place in the world by entering its name... Sun and Moon positions are then automatically updated using the choosen location.

2. Set desired time

Use the calendar controls to change the date and time. You can jump from one day to another or from one week to another or use the date time picker to select the date you want. Then you can use the elevation graph to adjust the time within the day. At any time, you can rewind/forward to the current date time which will activate live mode (which follows your phone's clock).

3. Find directions

Use the Com view to get the direction to Sunrise, Sunset, Moonrise or Moonset for the selected location and date.

Great app! It allows you to easily tell where the sun and the moon is, where they are going to be, when twilight is going to occur, and gives you the various angles that are concerned at all these points. There's a slider that allows you to easily slide through the various times and angles, and you can easily go to any time of the year. via a "date picker." This is a very practical app; it also helps you to intuitively visualize how the Earth and Moon's position is related to the position of the Sun. You might only use if for practical purposes, but it it will make you curious as to the science of it all. Non-nerds -watch out, you might become just a tad nerdy. Or not. I love this app!

Just installed this morning. So far, with some guessing because there appears to be no Help file, it works great. A legend for the map would be useful. However, those items being noted, this ephemeris, when allowed access to your GPS, provides data without advertisments👍 and seems to be quite accurate in detecting your location. The movable timeline and time advance buttons are a great what-if feature too.

Great tool. Data is accurate and easy to use. Only thing I would like to see is ability to differentiate between magnetic and geographic north, or a tool to determine declination at current location to make sure com is accurate. The com overlay was not agreeing with either of a physical com or another com on my device and it did not respond to calibration attempts. Love the app, though.

Nice app. Most of the visuals can be deciphered but the others well it would be nice to know what they mean. But this is a really cool app. 2/25/21 - Just figured out what the 4 extra shorter lines on the app mean. Of course the longer orange and purple follow the Sun & Moon respectively. And the 4 shorter lines, 2 orange and 2 purple indicate the Sun's rise and set position, and similar for the moon's purple lines. I liked the app so much I paid the 99 cents for it the day after I installed it.

False information about advertising, and what is shared with other apps for advertising purposes. The page says nothing is shared, however upon first opening the app the options are to either agree to cookies and sharing data with rs even when the app is closed, or acquiring an advertising ID, which allows the building of an advertising profile even if you turned permission off before. Uninstalled as I don't want either of those.

Does not work in Southern California. The sun is never where the app states it is. I have calibrated my com, & even adjusted for possible daylight savings errors. It still doesn't work. I live in one of the most populous areas of the US. It's a but shocking this app doesn't work. Ran it on my Samsung Note9, & also my new S21 Ultra - neither are accurate. PLEASE FIX!

Very clever display of lots of useful information. Worth the effort of working put what is there if you want to take the best use of sun and moon in your photos. (Check out the summer solstice sunset alignment at Eiffel tower) Needs a tutorial, as if you dont already understand what is being shown it will be hard to follow.

Works well for what I want, but for some reason it prompts me each time to the full version even though I paid for the lifetime license. I click through and it says "error you have already paid and then works, but it is annoying that i have to do this every time. (Motorola 5g 2023 running android 14)
