I got an email from substack offering me a credit. I tried to collect the credit, but substack will not let me to my on mobile. I had several errors from just trying to ! I finally figured out that substack is sending emails to allow me to ... on the app. Clicking the link in the email leads to another sign in error. g in on desktop does not have any of these problems. What a frustrating app experience, definitely worth a one star rating until it gets fixed.

I previously rated Substack with a perfect score. While I still find the content to be of high quality, the app is plagued with numerous technical issues. For instance, on multiple occasions, after composing extensive responses to articles, I attempted to use Samsung AI for spell checking, only to find that my entire comment had been erased.

I made a paid subscription, experienced technical issues with app cast to tv feature (it casted unrelated video but no the one I watched). Tried to , only chatbot available, any attempt to talk to to it and ask for human assistant got me to the "it might take a few weeks until they you back" answer. Unsubscribe/refund/one star review :(

I click on a link in a notification and it doesn't bring me right to the article and is sometimes very hard to find. Broken. No back button, so if I click on a link in an article to check it out really quick, and then want to go back to the original article I was reading, I can't, and have a very hard time even finding it. Broken. Clicked on a video playing with no sound and nothing happened. Broken

I had previously used the app but recently tried my and it won't let me sign in using the app even though I'm able to sign into a browser. Then I accidentally created a new in the app with a different email. When I try to with my actual I get an HTTP 401 error. Can't get past this. Very frustrating. So apparently nobody checks this. Still get error on 10/30/2024. App unusable.

App logged me out and cannot get back in. Every time I try it sends an error code and then sends an email asking if it was me. When I select yes it sends me to website to . From there I cannot log as as the same cycle keeps happening endlessly. Useless as the website just keeps direction to the app when I try to read something. FIX THIS!

I love Substack but they have to develop a better reading experience. One of the most frustrating things about this app is how it constantly reset itself and bring the reader back to the home screen, making them lose the post they were reading. Block someone? Reset. Mute? Reset. App is in background? Reset. The search in itself is useless, proposing "featured articles" instead of the last articles read. Add to this the impossibility to categorize saved article, and many more...

I stay for the quality of writing. Three things in particular bother me about the app: 1) that you can't save notes the way you can save posts 2) that when you open the app by clicking on a notification it doesn't stay open in the background if you leave the app. I'm constantly having to reopen the app and try to find what I was in the middle of reading all over again. 3) that there is no general navigation on every screen so I have to press the back arrow several times to get home
