The secret path to language learning
the Persian (Farsi) language classes in school? You started with hundreds of basic words and expressions, continued with tons of Persian (Farsi) grammar lessons and at the end of a full semester’s language course you could barely translate a sentence or say “Hello!” to a foreigner. That’s the traditional way to learn a language.
Mondly has a different approach, that’s opposite to the average language course.
This is how the future of language courses looks like
The App gets you started with a basic conversation between two people. You quickly start memorizing core words, use them to build sentences and phrases, and at the end of a 45-minutes module you are able to reconstruct that conversation with your own voice. It’s an effective way to learn Persian (Farsi) phrases. State-of-the-art Natural Speech Recognition and Spaced Repetition Algorithms make the app effective for learning languages.

Great for learning, repeats and reinforces content. However, I don't like the new (2024) version of the app. The old version which showed your score, weekly score, and ranking at the end of a lesson was more motivating.

In the recent update, there's no voice effect that reads the words out to you, even I press the sound icon next to a phrase, nothing happens. Disappointing as I enjoyed this app

The learning style of the app itself is very much like Duolingo. That being said, there are way more languages available on Mondly. You won't learn grammar rules, and I wish they had a feature to learn a new alphabet - sounds and letters. For that, I deducted a star. However, it is cool you can flip between alphabets (from say Persian to the Roman transcription) which other apps like Rosetta Stone don't allow. Good for beginning or if you're looking to refresh on a basic level.

it bugs (Android): vocal randomly stops or is non-existent in certain lessons. Also, there is no explanation whatsoever for the grammar which makes progress all the more difficult as lessons become inexplicably more complex. If memorization is your strong point, go for it. i DID email Mondly and they did reply that the "app bugs when using Bluetooth headsets". Even without Bluetooth it has bugged a couple of times, but far less. They're all right, seem like responsive. For $50 its OK.

I have the unpaid version so can only speak for that. Okay app, daily lessons are quick but sometimes repetitive as I've seen the same words in multiple lessons. The worst thing about the app is that there is no list of words that were learned - there is a really bad interface where the words and phrases are grouped and one needs to search through the different buckets to find a word (no relation to each other in the groups, except that they were in a lesson together). Sentences are helpful.

nice format but some errors In lesson one, it gives you the option to click on the verb for the conjugations. the verb is ast/است/is but it brings up the conjugations of agree and when you click on the sound buttons next to them, nothing plays. Also, it is very annoying that there are full stops at the start of all the sentences in Farsi.

Added extra stars. At first it appeared to be subscription only. That is the first screen that comes up but you can skip that and there is a lot of free content after all. Good audio, and good practice drills. One minor problem is that the exercises introduce a particular vocabulary. You practice and drill with those words. Then it gives you sentences to construct using some new words that you haven't seen before. So the progression is not 100% perfect but usually it doesn't take too long to figure out so overall, pretty decent little app.

The app is very easy to use. For a beginner I'd say the sentences are to complex, to long and spoken way to fast to hear all the words through the accent. The weeks lessons the word "Mekhorad" used "To drink" is incorrect it means "To eat" it should be "Minusham". Animal lessons have words not learned so you guess The App needs to be revisited for corrections to many lessons. If the customer has to pay for the lessons we should be learning it correctly. Not worth 9.99 a Month maybe for a Year.
