The most ed Altimeter for Android that does not need internet to work!- Altitude estimation with three different methods to be always sure to get a reliable measure, even without internet connection.
- Historical charts to see your excursions elevation gain.
- Maps with peaks' name and contour lines. Pick elevation from any point on the map.
- Pictures with impressed place name and altitude.
Altitude can be estimated:
- With satellites triangulation. Slow and less accurate but it works even with no internet connection.
- Taking the ground elevation at your current position from a global elevation map.
- Using the pressure sensor of your device (if available). It calibrates itself on pressure from the nearest weather station to improve accuracy.
As additional PRO features you can also:
- compensate systematic error of pressure sensor
- a larger area of the global elevation map
- record altitude without opening the App
- pick elevation on the map with no limitation
- have no advertising

This is the only altimeter app I could find with a history graph! Love the logging options and CSV export. That said, as other have reviewed, the analog dial is impossible to read the red inner even when not driving. Please provide the option to swap the woodgrain for an aircraft style and to remove the dial gauge and jumbo size the text. Lastly, a 'keep screen on' option would make the app perfect. (I'm an aircraft lover, and they are designed to be easy to read!)

I truly love this app for its clean interface and usefulness. However, I do have a few suggestions: 1) Include MSL-adjusted pressure (if possible) so that it is possible to see when a low pressure system is coming. Or, add a calculator that calculates average pressure at altitude based on average MSL pressure (1013.25 mb). 2) Add a dark theme - it makes it a lot more comfortable on the eyes and is very popular. 3) Allow lots more sections(even the entire world)to be ed for offline map

I installed this while it was temporarily free. It's called a "pro" version and has a regular price on Play store which I expected would mean an Ad free application with unobtrusive permissions. Wrong! Before using the app you are required to allow permissions enabling the developer to collect personal information and use it for marketing or other purposes. Not cool. I'm disappointed because I thought it might be a good app. Uninstalled.

The digital readout on the main page utilizes too small a font size to be safely viewed while driving. We are in the digital age and the analog altimeter needs to go away, period! This will allow you to oversize the digital readouts for safe viewing while driving. Accept my recommendation and I will give you 5 stars.

This is a fantastic app for keeping track of your elevation and tuning barometers and reference maps. Includes 3 ways to determine elevation, GPS built into phone, Global Elevation map, and pressure sensor. Maps can be ed and used offline later. Must have for hikers.

I've had the paid version for three years now and I love it everyday. The method of calibrating the altimeter to local elevations keeps it very accurate. This app is a "keeper" as we say. A real prize for the price. I hope sometime soon you can sell an iOS version. I would buy in a second.

I bought this to find elevation change on effluent pump, doesn't use GPS satellites, wants you to turn on Google track me, which is not what I like to do, at 75 plus feet higher it says I've went down hill 10 ft. Save your timr and don't bother, especially if you live in a rural area.

Okay...i get that location is needed for app function. App is likely using GPS data off satellites to calculate elevation versus using barometer sensor. When installing, is presented with notice / that location data specifically is being sent to rs to display ads. Yet ads have supposedly been removed. Even if ads are not being displayed, data is still ing 2 ment services. Questionable / shady practices. How about removing permissions for 1) full network access 2) view network connections 3) view WiFi connections 4)receive data from internet 5) run at startup and 6)prevent phone from sleeping if ads have been truly removed and app can be used offline?
