This camera app is great because it allows me to take photos and videos without sharpening and ugly processing. My only issue is that the audio quality is not great in video mode and it seems to be at a low bitrate of 97 kbps. I really wish there were an option to change the audio bitrate and adjust more audio settings for video. Another thing issue I noticed is that it's very slow to take photos in autofocus mode. It takes like 2 seconds. That's way too long.

Has given me tap to capture with auto flash on Google pixel. Thank you. Searching for years for this simple common sense function that HTC always had. Taking often close and in poorly lit areas, this feature combination is a game changer. Can't understand why no other OEM that I'm aware of uses that in their default camera. Well done to the developer. No proper auto flash on Google pixel is a joke.

Has potential but not very usable. Startup is pretty slow, so quick pics aren't possible. There is also an issue with Manual and Auto, i own a Sony A7 IV and I know how to use the manual mode. But sometimes i need to take just a quick picture and set it to auto. Then there is a problem where the brightness is so high that the screen is just white... With Auto it should adjust it but it doesn't, even setting the EV to -4 doesn't help at all as it's still really white...

Good with exeptions. It has some really good features like capturing without noise reduction/edge enhancement. There are bugs: It likes to crash when I don't have the default cam app open in background and also sometimes only captures 80% of the picture (lower 20% black), both mostly on high ISOs. It has a good HDR mode but unfortunately, will not use the full resolution of my camera and goes only up to 8MP as opposed to normal mode. For devs: It crashes when automatically using high ISOs.

THIS IS IT!! i've tried many camera apps, this is the best out of 20. and I tried paid ones, too. The stock app oversharpens everything and the algorithms go crazy on the image. Some apps allowed to disable crazy sharpening and noise reduction. But only Open Camera consistently gives sharp photos. Other apps always end up with a little motion blur. Open Camera, as it seems, waits a little after you press the shutter. It listens to the accelerometer to catch the monent with the least camera shake

The closest manual focus distance is 10 cm. This seems pretty far away to me. I was hoping to get a manual focus camera application so that I could focus well on tiny things. I don't know anything about cameras, but this feels like pretty far away? I was hoping for closer ups. The auto focus can sometimes do it closer than this i think. So shouldn't this also be able to?

App has great potential for a particular use that will now become more popular: in the past, online educators used apps like iVCam or Epoccam as easy tools to have a second camera in zoom. Now many of us are using switchers like Blackmagic's Atem mini to improve quality. Open camera is one of only two apps (the other costs 14 Euros!) that enables sending a clean HDMI through the phone's USBc to the Atem mini! If the dev could also enable to turn off the phone's screen while sending camera signal through the USB port - this would be a gamechanger app for the described use! At the moment I need to minimize display brightness on the phone, which is not ideal. Thanks!!

Overall an incredible camera app. However, only 4 points bcoz even the online help doesn't enable me to manage to shoot a panorama. If I click to shoot a photo it does a single shot. If I hold the button it shoots multiple pics... one after another, which aren't stitched together. No two blue circular dots do appear on my screen. And I don't find any option in settings to preselect panorama. Using Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
