Needed a solid GPS app for work, and this is solid. Easy to use, and still powerful. The free version has most of what MOST people would need. 7/30 update. it keeps getting better! maps render faster since the update. not that it was bad before, but noticable improvement. just got the watch app on S3 frontier, great for a quick glance and to start tracking.

Updating: not simple to set up but awesome once it works. Definitely kept us going in the right direction on some poorly-maintained wilderness trails. Very deep program - I have a lot to learn to see what else it does. But, once you get past the un-intuitive setup, it's great, rock-solid, feature-rich and easy to use. I spent a good three hours figuring out how to set it up, and would have failed if my friend hadn't helped. It's not THAT hard but you have to the map you want, then navigate to it on your phone with the app, then enable it in view, which is pretty dense. It would be nice if when you ed it, you have the option of "Use This Map?" But, the ability to set pins, use different folders for pins, attach files & photos to the pins, and record your track is pretty solid. It's a deep program, and if you're going to rely on it in the wilderness, sped however long it takes at home to really dial it in and understand it. I still have a lot of learning to do. But, it kept us from taking the wrong trail a dozen times on this past trip, when you're confronted with multiple animal traces, and one is your trail, this app is helpful.

In my 10+ years of using smart phones, this is only the 3rd app I've actually purchased, but by far what I consider the best $$ spent on any app so far. Best on-line/off-line mapping app for Android yet! Great interaction and flexibility if you're into going off grid. I've just scratched the surface, but very happy with purchasing the Pro version.

Track recording is reliable, and it shows useful statistics whilst I am walking or cycling. I usually use it with either the OpenStreetMap classic map or OpenCycleMap. I can my tracks to Strava and OpenStreetMap, and I can add notes to OSM. Good value for money. Adding geotagged notes (for use with editing OpenStreetMap) is more complicated than with Osmtracker. I tried Locus Maps 4 but it didn't meet my needs, so came back to 3 Classic

I spend a lot of time off road in the mountains of Tennessee. All of the import and export functions in addition to excellent offline performance make this a no-brainer. I've used it for years and have never had a single disappointment. I very easily imported landmarks and things like every cemetery and old school listed on the USGS maps and am able to find what I'm looking for on the ground in real life.

Cheaper, faster loading map data and higher detail satellite maps for offline caching and the only mapping application found that didn't have a freakin' disoriented com bug on Lollipop 5.1.1 compared to my 2nd choice app Backcountry Navigator Pro. Oh and customer service better too. Accuterra subscription Maps were worse than standard free satellite imagery so I don't recommend buying maps subscriptions for any of these type apps. I'm still lost!

this is by far my favorite GPS app. tracking is flawless, and it automatically plans my routes on logging roads which is super nice. been using locus map (paid) for many years. I've got a paid version of onyx off road, it pales in comparison. although onyx is useful for property ownership on the maps. locus is my go to and I love it. just did a 60 miles loop today and used locus to piece it together.

The best GPS mapping app on Android. Beautiful, cheap, updated offine topo maps (LoMAPS in their store). Integrates perfectly with Google Earth, ArcGIS, QGIS, Garmin, and other mapping programs. Clouds backups and transfers of points and tracks. Great organization of data for large collection projects. I use it professionally all the time and cant speak highly enough about it.
