Smart Pianist lets you access the many features of your Yamaha digital piano with your Android device. This special app provides the most features when utilized with the revolutionary Clavinova CSP series digital pianos.

Features:
1. Learn to play your favorite songs right away with the exclusive Audio to Score function. When connected to the Clavinova CSP, the Audio to Score function automatically creates a piano accompaniment score from songs in your music library. *Audio to Score feature is exclusive to Clavinova CSP.
2. Smart Pianist makes selecting instrument Voices and changing settings quick and easy by turning your smart device into a touch-screen graphical interface for your digital piano.
3. With the app, you can play back song data such as Preset songs and commercially available songs. Not only can you enjoy playing back Songs, but you can also practice along with them as they’re playing back. I did try connecting with a USB cable and Bluetooth and it didn't connect with my Yamaha P515. The app didn't find anything but the Sony phone itself did. UPDATE 6 Dec 2020 - works now by USB! I can now use the app with my Android phone by USB if I use the following setting on the phone. With the phone connected to piano using a USB cable and a USB OTG (On The Go) adapter, and the piano already turned on: 1) On phone: Settings, Device Connection, USB connectivity, Detect USB device. 2) The phone then detects the piano. 3) Opening the Smart Pianist App on the phone, then use the Connect by Cable option and select the piano (for me the P515). The app works perfectly now. My phone is Sony Xperia 5 compact, Android 7.1.1. It is NOT on the Yamaha ed phones list. I would recommend Yamaha to include instructions B OTG for Android s, as it is not an automatic connection process, and I have never seen this setting before on my phone. Maybe this could help a lot of frustrated Android s?

When using the app loading the lessons gives the side but doesn't give the score so you can play along. Im using the yamaha p~145 stage piano with a 14inch tablet running Android 14. Also, when accessing other areas of the app it doesn't show the side controls. I wont be using this or recommending it, perhaps because its a free app yamaha dont want to spend money on its shortcomings. Whereas, Flowkey works perfectly fine.

For such a pricey instrument (CVP-909), it'll be great if such a basic function as connectivity in 2025 worked. Didn't work with my CLP-785 either, thought the upgrade might be better. Maybe I shouldn't fault a music instrument company, but don't promise the ease of use of a such a useful looking feature if it's a lemon. I'm not going to buy extra usb lan adapter, in case you intended, at this point I don't trust even that to work. Bluetooth connects, app detects everything but the piano.

I was enjoying using this app until the latest update which changed classical music to pdf scores only. The duets are now particularly awkward to follow especially for an inexperienced player. Please include a means of reverting to the previous display method.

if your piano not work: 1. Unlock microphone access (on new versions of android you can block it globally for all aplications [this was my issue]) 2. Allow usb connection 3. Force stop and clear caches for app 4. Update and Restart phone I have p145 and samsung S23 (android 14, one ui 6.1). REVIEW: App UI is so bad

This app simply does not work for me. I have a new digital piano (P-515), and whatever method of connection I try to use, the app is unable to find the piano. Bluetooth, USB, WiFi - whatever I try, it just can't connect. I was really looking forward to using this app, and I'm very disappointed in it. Amazing piano, but a completely broken app.

Can't the audio I recorded from my keyboard. The app works according to the availability of your own yamaha keyboard. I have a p125 so it's not a big deal. The app is simple to use as well. The problem with this app is you can't the audios your recorded to your phone or tablet. It makes you link your with Dropbox to send the archives, but the archives never appear to transfer. I had better expectations from this app... good products but bad apps.

My Google Pixel 7 Pro (Android 13) cannot connect to my CLP745 via Bluetooth. This needs to be fixed ASAP! I connected with my other device, and noticed that the only way to save recorded audio is through Dropbox, really?? Overall the UI/UX is really bad: you click a button and don't see any kind of progress indicator, go several screens to do one thing (connect for example), which can be done in one scrollable screen. Overall UI is "outdated". There's a lot work be done in this app!
