The game is a retro-like 16-bit game, so it is not pretty and it has no fancy animations. This is a pure gameplay-oriented turn based strategy.

The game is great, lots of maps, days long missions. I'm just having a problem with the gems. I've won several maps 3 star and recieved nothing, as well as replaying maps for 3 stars and not receiving the additional 1 or 2. I've lost count exactly how many so an estimate would be around 12-15 so far. I spent days on some of these, only reason i can't give it 5 stars.

It may seem small at first, however a very well put together tactical game with dozens of units to customize your armies with as well as interesting historical battles to play on epic scales. There are many upgrades and paths to choose for you're own unique experience in my opinion. Very well done. Been coming back to this game for years. Still loving it.

I love the game. I had the thought of making a way to create a custom character for the level editor, something like choosing a base guy that you can directly set stats and give it a name/description, if something like that was possible it would save so much time making triggers

Perfect! Just got to the last newbie level and having a great time. Basic controls allow for easy, understandable, combat and I've never felt like anything came out of nowhere. Very balanced. Age of strategy indeed. Update: First : 2021 Still agree with the above statement in 2024.

Easily one of the best games out there. I've been playing on and off since 2015. EDIT ***I can't get catapults or trebuchets to go into wagons or ships since I re- the app in July. It makes it really difficult to play some of the bigger levels without being able to transport the catapults. If this could be fixed, that would be great.***

I used to play a lot of AgeOfEmpires turn based strategy on the Nintendo DS. If you liked that game then you will most likely enjoy Age Of Strategy. It has a vast variety of units and structures with much greater detail in the unit-vs-unit dynamics. The game is player ed, and it truly is free; I've completed about half of the single player missions, and subsequently I've unlocked about half the available units. Thanks for such an awesome game!!!

Everything is clear and understandable to me, and it requires high levels of thinking to create awesome maps and beat challenging campaigns. The game allows you to mod in your own changes or additions, requiring that you learn some java script. If said additions work they can actually become working units/structure/terrain in multiplayer games or for other map editors to use. My favorite part about this game is that it is extremely flexible compared to big triple a titles that ignore their fans.

Great 2d tactical strategy game. I can see the font just fine but it is a bit small sometimes. There is a zoom in and zoom out to use for everything but the UI. It is offline but it saves games on their server via a validated email. Audio is great too, relaxing. I love 2d graphics so if you do too then try this game out.
