Scoop is ok. It's definitely a good idea, and when everything goes perfectly it works as d. Unfortunately, things frequently don't go as planned and ScoopCare is kind of bad. Responses always come across as canned and without thought about your situation. In a few cases the response has had nothing at all to do with the ticket I opened. It's very strange. Most cases comes down to "sorry your driver bailed on you! Here's $5" (if it's a morning ride), which incidentally doesn't help you actually get to work on time (or at all really). I think Scoop could be great, but it will be dependent on completely rethinking their customer service - because it's such a weak point in the whole thing.

sub optimal at best. how is it that i can match with the same person for a week solid, then suddenly i do not match with them at all, then the next week it's them again. What's the point of favorites if it doesn't guarantee a match. we've even compared our notes and scheduled times. The biggest joke about this app is the 'short list' which is just their way of stalling you out in the morning only to get no match anyways. it's getting really old. hopefully someone comes along and buys this place and fixes it. Like if a driver and rider get along and want to match EVERY TIME you should enable that. this is seriously causing me more stress than it's worth.

This used to be a great way to find car poolers going to and fro from work. It would match with people close by both sides of the journey. Lately though even for often travelled routes it has started matching people who are really out of the way to pick up and drop. I mostly drive and have a commute of over 35 miles each way in san francisco bay area and if scooping makes me drive the same amount of time if I drive alone, it does not make sense to use the app anymore.

subpar matching algorithms perfectly blended with super incompetent and rude customer care!! They ask for customer after every single ride and even make you type stuff when you give less than 4-stars but they learn nothing from it. The only help that you get from the customer care is a bunch of template-based emails or texts. They cannot or do not care to help you but they are quite happy to preach you the "best practices", which do not help you in any shape or form.

Great app for work commute. Surprisingly, I get a match 95% of the time! But, the main problem lies in the fact that the scoop drivers are NEVER on time. They come anywhere from 10 to 20 min late, and some don't even bother to atleast text that in advance. I have to book very early slots to for this delay. Since I can't rely on the fact that they'll be late, I do get ready and wait for them even on a early slot. I know it's not an app problem. But, I hope scoop can work around this :)

The UI used to be so good. Scoop would make a perfect case study for how an app with great UX went down into the gutter for no apparent reason. Used to show the time slot, Rider info and commute address on the home page. Now it just shows generic messaging and you have to click further down into pages to find/ that info.

Getting a ride can be hit or miss, but that's not the app's or service's fault, really. But I'm taking off a star because it is relentless about insisting you rate every driver and enger, every time, regardless of how many times you've rated them before. Its irritating and happens every time I go to schedule my next ride.

Using Scoop feels that it is more "disciplined" and more commitment than Waze carpool that has more "freedom" for both drivers and riders. The pains are that, (1) some or most of the riders are waiting in a huge parking lot or many parking lots of a company in the afternoon. It can be hard to meet each other and sometimes time consuming, and frustrating. (2) The match does not always do the good math, and the route can be much longer and slower. Some of the pick up points may not in between the original route of the driver's home to work. (3) And it seems has no memory on carpool matches before, and just randomly matches with new faces. May be there is a setting for preferences that I did not know yet. After all, Scoop is a good App. Thanks for the developer's efforts.
