Was a front to back, daily reader from the age of 12 to my 40's... until I was able to get news from other sources and discovered the Strib is always a day late and sadly only reports "some" of the news. it's not called the Red Star for nothing.

Update: 8/19/24 - They FINALLY redesigned the interface and fixed all the bugs!!! It's now easy to navigate and works flawlessly! Great job!

Unfortunately this app does not deliver. Search features don't work reliably, and app display occasionally cuts off lines of type. Unknown whether the latest update will fix previous issue of app crashing during searches. I hope they keep trying to improve this app.

The app has been totally redone as of August 2024 and now works beautifully! I use a pretty low end Android phone and I used the be very frustrated with the old Star Tribune app. Now that they've updated it I couldn't be happier! Beware of poor reviews written before 8/24. 🙂

I read articles of interest every day. The old app always froze or closed. The new one is much easier to use and seems faster. STILL no ability to make comments on articles however and that is important for many readers. When will that be fixed?

Constantly starts videos with sound on my Samsung Galaxy S10+ when not wanting to see videos; sometimes when the app isn't even open. Secondly, when scrolling page-to-page, the app eliminates whole blocks of info. That is unacceptable for a very expensive subscription. I notified the developer 2 months ago, but still no fix. Ive ed latest version, too. Makes my subscription worthless.

They don't seem to single sign on. There are multiple different sign on pages that the browser cannot handle. It's excruciatingly difficult to report a missed paper delivery. Finally, for years a css problem that cropped off the last line of a paragraph went undetected. But at least it's better than the metro transit app.

Great content, poor app quality. Even on a brand spanking new phone, this app has serious performance issues. Scrolling drops frames, graphics and diagrams don't render correctly, and my phone starts to feel like it's on fire after 2 minutes of using the app. It also doesn't save it's state when you switch to other apps, which means you'll have to refind the article you were reading if you leave the app and come back a minute later.
