Want to measure sound level? This is smart sound level meter app for Android! Our decibel meter uses your built-in microphone to measure sound volume in decibels (dB) and also displays samples on helpful graph.
NOTE: Microphones in most devices are aligned to human voice and the maximum values are limited by the hardware. Very loud sounds (~90 dB and more) may not be recognized. Automatic gain control used in some devices may interfere with the operation of this noise meter.

It's ok. I don't know how accurate it is, as I don't have a way to its readings. The graph function sounded really cool until I found out you can only see the last 60 seconds, which makes the graph useless. Also no way to save the graph that I can see. Also can't customize the appearance at all. So if you want to see dBs in real time, it works for that, but that's it. There are other free dB apps with more features.

Works perfectly. Idk why people are saying it doesn't measure sound while ads are displayed or that it's difficult to read at a glance. Not seeing either of those issues. Current reading is displayed simultaneously in digital and analog format as well as minimum, average, maximum and graphing for a session. And this is an extremely inexpensive app at $1.99 if you prefer ad-free. App development costs money. Small price to pay for this quality and stability.

I've been using this app with a calibrated USB mic to measure and balance sound levels from the various speakers in a home theater system. The graphical history is perfect for this, I can sample each speaker for 5 or 10 seconds and get a clear visual indication of their relative levels. It's been incredibly useful, I really appreciate it. It would be even more useful if it had an option for C weighted averaging, and the ability to control the horizontal and vertical display range.

For work, I ed Sound Meter to backup what we were experiencing with noise from the fans blowing heat or A/C . When maintenance used their meter, we were in the same range. That's pretty accurate. It is an easy, simple app to use. No gimmicks. Don't recall being blasted by ads. I recommend it.

It work as intended, the app is simple to use and does not bother you with constant ads, as for the accuracy of the measurements it will depend on the cuality of the microphone you have attached to your phone. Also it only goes up to 89db, which is the safest level before you start suffering damage to your ear drums.

So I wanted to run my surround sound calibration test tone using an SPL meter but couldn't see any reason to spend a great deal of money for such rare usage. This app was a great substitute for my brain's "calculation" of how many decibels were coming out of each channel. Regardless of accuracy in the exact volume being ed by this app's display, all I wanted was a consistent reading through the setup. Very useful!

I like the simplicity and usefulness of this app, BUT.... The ads! I nt mind the ads if they will show up quietly, but the first one is quiet, and then one with audio shows up and the button to skip the video becomesslow to respond, this prolonging the play time of the video. I want to pay to stop the ads, but not sure if there'll be any additional value to gain...

Great app, a bit basic (no choice of graphing display). Easy on battery life ! I used it to fine tune the noise in my sleeping environment. Note: If your phone is in a case, the mic may be obstructed and a false reading obtained. Remove your phone from it's case, or use an external microphone for best results.
