You can stock your Power gauges to enter in MAX mode or to unleash deadly Desperation Moves!
Depending on your characters' affinity, get extra Power gauges even after losing a round!
EXTRA MODE:
Use the Evade move wisely as you are being rushed and send your opponent flying!
Fill your Power gauge to automatically enter Power Max mode for a set amount of time!
As you are close to exhaustion, your health bar will turn red and blink, then you will be able to unleash your Desperation Moves to your heart's content, as long as you are the last one standing!

Update: doesn't work on Android 11. Worthless as is. seems to be a perfect port of this neogeo game. awesome sounds awesome graphics easy controls very smooth animation. I do recommend an external controller for this game because there are so many awesome moves to pull off and some move are tricky to pull off on command with the touch controls

As a KOF fan, it is really good. Controls are tight and feels really nice. However, the game port is not like a Home version but rather the actual arcade port. It is nice owning something like that on the go, but the AI level cannot be toggled as it is programmed to get harder over level. The lack of training is unfair for newcomers and due to the AI getting harder, it forces them to replay the first stage over and over again just to get better on it. Please put online since it begs for online.

DO NOT BUY! READ FIRST!! I love KOF but this app version will leave you frustrated. Once you get past level 3 the game gets extremely hard to the point that you can't do any damage, you won't be able to land any hits and even if you block it'll still hit you. Every combo or special move will be interrupted. Changing the difficulty on the main page makes no difference. It's not worth it, trust me

Bad Controls! The down SP button doesn't even work which need a fix. I can't even get past the 4th stage on difficulty one because the enemy know when your gonna attack, jump, crouch, or anything please fix.The bot are so repetitive and fix the grab mechanics cause I keep grabbing some times and the for some reason the grab doesn't work and then the enemy grabs me when I hit them first. Also buy KOF 98 it better controls and easy to play.Last but not least please allow us to use both all desperation move because I hate that I have to actually use the joystick just to do one move and mess up just basically do the same like KOF 98. Add Orchi Plz.

It's a great port, it's all original, but things could be improved for the player if the game wasn't as difficult (the AI always reacts with the exact counter to what you've just done, and if you make an input mistake then you just let yourself open and the opponent will destroy half of your life bar for that mistake). Also I think there should be something done about the lag that fire attacks cause the game to have. Using many character's attacks slow the game down a lot...

I adore KOF 97 as well as 98. I've been watching the older kids play fighting games since art of fighting invthe arcades but I truly started to understand and play KOF when 97 released. Touch controls need a lot of work especially with response. Why the game suddenly stopped working with Android 11 no one knows and currently the game is unplayable till they update for newer handsets. This is a massive letdown!

Don't feel like giving 2 Stars because it's my favourite fighting game, but any U Character you come up against in any difficulty Level, even if it was set in Level 1, the U boasts extemely powerful Combos (Especially the Girl Characters and Soldier types). Also the U Characters keep guarding no matter what, until their guard is broken, now by this time you are so tired that you'll be KO'ed even with simple moves and there should be Training Mode. Lastly, The bluetooth mode needs fixing.

I'm taking one star. I love this game, but the AI is insanely hard to beat, not to mention that the super moves are SO hard to execute. I'm just stuck doing aerial punches with Mai and Athena. Fighters like Kensou and Kyo are cheating maniacs that can take my whole team down even on the very first match. I can't even get to Orochi without dying at least 10 times. I would just want the commands/super moves to be easier to execute.
