Loved trail forks before they had a massive overhaul 2-3 years ago. Since then, the subscription cost feels too high to justify an extremely buggy app. I used it multiple times per week for hours on end a handful of years ago but since then it's become so buggy I can't even explore trials from my couch let alone use it to help navigate trail systems. It's very unfortunate because the alternatives don't highlight trail riding as well as trail forks once did.

App has become absolute garbage since bought by Outside. Constant problems, rarely functions efficiently. Definitely can't depend on it working when you want/need it anymore. Definitely re- (or try since it fails half the time) areas before going anywhere - if you wait to search trails when you get to a trailhead you're going to get nothing but frustrated.

Helpful, but glitchy for me. Won't go without it but it always has a hard time showing pictures and routes of the trail I'm currently looking at, always reverts back to something I was looking at 15 minutes ago for some reason. I also wish that the "open app" button when trying to view trail footage on YouTube would work. Overall, I use this all the time, but I wish it was less finicky or less expensive... I'd be happier either way.

I orginally ranked this app at 4 stars, but it seems like as the cost of a subscription has gone up, the functionality has gone way down. I'm actively looking for other options. Every time I update, I have to the regions again, and with the latest update, I have to close the app and re-open between each region ed to another. I can't speak for iPhone, but with the Samsung s24, this app suuuucks!

Absolutely love trailforks, best MTB trail map tool for where I live. But something in the last few months has made it soooo buggy. Now I can rarely use it for more than 60 seconds before it freezes/becomes unresponsive, and I have to restart it. The previous few years the app has been fantastic but lately it's been challenging

Recommend disabling auto-sync and setting aside 3-4 hours periodically to manually sync your ed areas. The app is completely useless when syncing things and it is slower than carrying individual 1s and 0s via carrier pigeon. Definitely wouldn't want this process to start mid-ride... Outside really is the opposite of King Midas; everything they touch turns to $#!+.

I have been using this app sense it's conception. I have recommended this app to many many people who have all used it. The latest version with social media included is a joke! Focus on making the maps better, give an option to higher quality maps not making it Instagram! Most of us outdoors men hate the socials as it is. Increasing the cost by nearly 100 percent was a bad idea also I know I'll find an equivalent app to recommend people switch to for much! Much! Cheaper!

I used to really enjoy this app. I've had the pro subscription for years but the app has severely decreased in functionality and has become extremely buggy. I've sent multiple emails through the app regarding issues with ride logs (app has not saved any of my rides since November 2023). I have not received a single response. I've cancelled my pro hip. Recommend you try any other trail app.
